► Extra digit added to scores
We added another digit to scores to help differentiate between scores in high-level play. Scores were already calculated with 4 decimals, but were not stored that way server-side, and were not shown to the player. Scores and percentages are now stored in the database with their complete value to support any further modifications to the digit count, and old scores simply have a “0” appended.
► Percentage and scoring calculations corrected
“Roll” notes were causing errors in the percentage calculation that would allow the percent to approach and exceed 100%, especially on easier difficulties. The amount of points that can be scored in a roll was also very slightly reduced as part of this calculation. A little more work needs to be done here, but there should no longer be a danger of percentages appearing to be higher than they are.
► Minor graphical and gameplay corrections, performance improvements
Timing points have changed to support the higher score digits, and the number and bar will also fade shortly after a note is struck. This is a minor cosmetic change, but please let us know if you preferred the previous method of always showing the timing strip. The first “roll note” in a track was also missing in the last few updates and has been restored. The Unity engine has also been upgraded to the latest version.
This update and the previous update change many of the core systems of the game, and therefore can potentially create some serious bugs that our team couldn’t identify through our limited playtesting. Therefore, please let us know immediately if you encounter a bug on an arcade unit that has these updates (if all songs have 5-digit scores, the machine is running the latest update). You can contact us through the Unit-e contact form, on Twitter, or through our Facebook page.
